How news!!!

Brand new lines for 2010-I am sooooo pleased with these and they are having a fantastic response so far-more styles and colours on the way!

Delicate chains of printed white silk with teeny handmade flowers and hand sewn pearl beads...so summery and light -right on trend for this year's summer fashions too!

I could hardly wait to share these-although the photos hardly do them full justice, they look FANTASTIC on!
part of a new range of textile art jewellery designs I am working on this year-these will be exhibited for the first time at Lost Fest, on Sunday 16th May 2010 in Lostwithiel, Cornwall.
Hope to see some of you there!

Yoga Libra Spirit Art Doll

I am so thrilled to be sharing this exciting new piece of work here!
Commissioned for a very special presentation show by Vicki-Sue Brotherhood
(CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO ON HER BLOG). This art doll was created as part of Vicki-Sue's MA exhibition as a personal reflection of the artist herself. She is reflective of many aspects of Vicki's personality. Close friends ( including me!) were asked to suggest a single word to describe Vicki-Sue and each word was used an an inspiration and an embellishment within the piece. I used soft green and gently organic tones to create an earthy and tactile warmth, with a number of fabrics and embellishments found directly from Vicki's personal collection and creations. The open arms and soft twinkle in her blue eyes reflect a lady of great warmth and humour and my aim was to impart both femininity and strength throughout the piece. An absolute joy to create, it was genuinely hard to say goodbye to this doll when completed-but I console myslef that she does now have a VERY good home!
Commissions are very welcome-please contact me using the comment option below if you would like to discuss your ideas.
The MA exhibiton is on 3rd,4th,5th September, Wood Lane, Falmouth Art College.

Just a few sneaky peeks!....

One of my most wonderful customers is out there right now, wondering how her order is going, ( it has been quite a few weeks now...) -it always seems impolite to mention names directly here,so we will call her S. You know who you are!!
Anyways, the next few posts over the rest of this week are especially for you, S, - this is my way of reassuring you that I AM still on the case,honest,-if a little further behind than I would have hoped at this point in time!
Your patience is appreciated and the good news is that your order has my full and undivided attention for the rest of this week ( yes, I have actually,-temporarily!- caught up on myself for a moment), so please sit back and enjoy the sneak previews of some of your pieces, all in various states of progress.....

Above are some of the yummy ingredients going into these pieces.......organza,hessian,velvets,fibers,and some really gorgeous vintage fabrics which I have coffee-dyed,just gorgeous!
Below are previews of these custom pieces, which include an altered board book, a wonderful LARGE fabric art album and several of my unique treasure boxes.....

New accessories store on etsy!

I have decided to open a second etsy store, featuring my fiber/textile art accessories and jewellery items!
Please do visit there soon and take a peek ( comments welcome, bear in mind that it's still being added to so not all the stock is there yet!)
I have worked so hard and achieved some well earned success in designing and selling these pieces. I do not compromise myself and copy the work of others, as I believe there is room for everybody to do their own thing.Consequently I was REALLY upset to find that not just one,but now TWO of my previous customers have bought pieces from me in order to copy and sell for themselves - have these people no integrity? ( or originality, skill, imagination or shame for that matter?):(....sorry, I won't dwell on that, but cannot help but feel offended!
Anyways,the new store vividspirit.etsy.com
showcases my pieces beautifully, much better and still the original and BEST QUALITY accessories of this type-and of course,my original store will continue to be crammed full of mixed media and textile art as always! Take a peek now!
