I am delighted to be offering for sale this lovely fabric art album. It is filled with pockets and tags of handmade textile art goodies. Entitled 'Time' the front cover is embellished with a charming metal tag embossed 'Time'.. Inside there are 8 (eight) pages ( not including the covers which are also lavishly embellished inside!) of layered fabric collage which includes lace,papers,vintage images,beads,buttons and stitchery. There is even an extra pocket on the back with a teeny tag inside.Room,if you wish, for your own additions if desired, a lovely keepsake for ephemera,scraps of special artwork and letters....or simply enjoy it just as it is-whatever inspires you the most!
Designed to be handled so firmly finished and stitched over, despite the shabby chic appearance!
Book measures ( approximately as edges are further embellished in places) 3" square and ( approx) 2" thick.

wow,wow and WOW!

Oh my! Just had to show off a few of these! A very dear friend of mine has recently finished a Masters Degree in Textile Design.....and is now taking off a few (well deserved)months to go travelling.
This being the case she is downsizing many of her possessions and selling off many of her wordly goods....so when it came to her collection of TOTALLY UNIQUE NEVER TO BE SEEN AGAIN DIGITALLY DESIGNED AND PRINTED FABRICS-well, her first thought when looking for a good home for these wonderful creations so precious to her heart,was to speak to yours truly right here of course!
These are AMAZING-this is just a handful of examples that I snapped whilst sorting through them....I don't have the words to express my joy and inspiration at this amazing collection.
As an artist and designer I admire this lady's work so so much and have been lucky enough to peek in and see how some of these design have developed along the way-and to NOW have the chance to use and create with some of her fabrics, well....INSPIRATIONS are overflowing here!!!
The only drawback this week is that I have to put the ideas on hold ( I am surgically attached to my sketchpad/notepad so as not to lose any of the ideas buzzing here in the meantime) whilst I get ready for an exhibition beginning this weekend-exciting enough in itself really! Further details on that to follow tomorrow....meanwhile...enjoy the little teasers-I am!

Mini Fabric Album

OOh scrummy! I'm so delighted to be sharing this darling little album with you!
This album was created using fabrics and papers with stitchery embellishments. The style is very much grunge/shabby chic,with layers of yummy fabrics and papers,raw and torn edges and uncut threads-do not assume from this design style that it is loosely stitched however, it is firmly finished,and whilst designed to fray,the edges have been finished to prevent too much unravelling-it is very much designed to be handled! This is such a special piece of textile art.
This is a miniature size version of my fabric albums. It's so cute I almost didn;t part with it, so I hope it finds a loving home!There are still ten pages, not including the front cover entitled 'IMPULSE' and back cover embellished with 'FOREVER' with fabric and stitchery.
Book is filled with all manner of stitch and fabrics,inspirational/mantra style words and a couple pages have tiny pockets for some of my handmade tags .
I have included lots of photos so the page may take a moment or two to load but is well worth it! Album measures ROUGHLY 3" square and approx just less than 2" or so thick

A day spent dyeing.......

The weather was kind for long enough this week to get some serious dyeing done-it's just too messy to attempt indoors so I set it all up outside-what fun, and great success I think!!




A bunch of scrummy new coloured fabrics drying on the line.....



I should have worn gloves I guess, but it will fade after a day or two and you just can't get stuck in there properly with gloves on!

Even my handmade papers didn't escape this time-how wonderful do these look now?

Fabric Collage Album-new design!

This album was created using fabrics and papers with stitchery and vintage image embellishments. The style is very much grunge/shabby chic,with layers of yummy fabrics,many of them uniquely hand dyed by me, and papers,raw and torn edges and uncut threads-do not assume from this design style that it is loosely stitched however, it is firmly finished,and whilst designed to fray,the edges have been finished to prevent too much unravelling-it is very much designed to be handled!
The front cover has a beautiful butterfly,hand-transferred onto calico fabric and poetry quote,also delicately hand transferred onto fabric,all collaged together with lace and button embellishments.There are ten pages inside, (not including the front cover and back cover) all embellished with lace,fabric,vintage photos and embroidery,filled with loads of scrummy handmade tags,made using papers,beads,fibres and all manner of stitch and fabrics,tucked into pockets,the sweetest miniature embroidered fabric booklet ( see photos-embroidered 'Play,Live,Love ) , -and still plenty of space ready for you to add all your precious mementos,letters and photos to create a personal album!
Album is one of my larger designs,and measures ROUGHLY 8" square and approx 1-2" thick.
I'm not sure that my photos do it justice!It is hard to convey the textural appeal of these lovely fabric collages-this has to be one of my personal favourites so far!
